Dr Gal Rachel Brown (née Bohadana) Psychologist (Clinical Registrar) BA. Psych (Hons).PhD (Clinical Psychology) Monday - Telehealth only Gal is a registered psychologist and clinical registrar with experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and parents presenting with a broad range of difficulties. Gal is a compassionate and person-centred psychologist that aims to work collaboratively with clients to achieve their optimal outcomes and reach their goals.
Gal has completed her PhD in clinical Psychology and has a particular interest in self-compassion for parents of children with autism spectrum disorder. Gal has over 6 years experience working with children, adolescents, and adults with developmental disorders. She has worked in diverse settings including non-for-profit organisations, hospital, community, and university clinics.
Gal has also helped clients with various mental health concerns including depression, anxiety, dealing with chronic illnesses, obsessive-compulsive disorder, stress, anger, perfectionism, social difficulties, tics, behavioural issues, and more. Gal is an accredited Parent-Child Interaction Therapist and delivers parenting programs for parents and children. Gal also provides diagnostic autism and cognitive assessments and completed her ADOS-2 training.
Gal is experienced with various therapeutic interventions including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Strength based therapies, including self-compassion. Gal is empathetic and non-judgemental in her approach and is committed to providing the best possible care for her clients in order to help them live more fulfilling Iives.
Gal has published several articles in leading peer-reviewed academic journals and has presented her research at conferences.
